Located in Palmer at Mile 1.1
of the Palmer/Wasilla Highway, the Alaska Operating
Engineers/Employers Training Center is recognized as one of the top training
facilities in the Northwest. Occupying 63 beautiful acres in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, the Training Center first opened its doors
1989. At that time the Center
consisted of one 5,200 sq. foot building and the adjoining land. Today the Center utilizes
the original building as a training facility for our Welding and CDL classes.
The second building, which was added to the property in 1990, consists of a 9,600
sq. foot building that includes classrooms, staff offices, a recently
remodeled break room, and a 4,800 sq foot shop. The shop features a 6-ton
overhead crane, oil recovery system, and two large bays that are utilized for our Mechanics Training
and equipment repairs.
